Mission Statement

Art for Civil Discourse (ACD) is a project that brings communities together to spark conversation. Public art has great power to bring beauty and delight into people's lives and can build bridges between neighbors across identity lines. By inviting citizens from a range of socio-economic walks of life to share in the creation of public artwork, ACD helps to engage and inspire neighborhoods to dream, create and heal together. Public Art and art education are a part of a healthy community and have power to change lives.

Inga is a Ukrainian-American artist whose mission in life is to use art to make the world a more beautiful and a better place. She has been producing oil paintings and public murals for over a decade and oscillates between themes of beauty and socio-political narratives. In her art practice, she designs visual narratives that ask questions, kindle meditation, and provoke conversation. As the founder of Art for Civil Discourse, Inga creates spaces for citizens to meditate and converse on important issues through experiencing and sometimes even co-creating public artworks.

During 2020, Inga co-founded Safety Net Fund and Paint the Void, two initiatives to help artists in the wake of Covid-19. Prior to that, she spent five years teaching art as Chair of Artistic Anatomy Department and principal instructor at Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy and London Atelier of Representational Art, London.  Inga Bard’s work has been exhibited internationally at the Victorian and Albert Museum and Soho Fluorescent Festival in London, Museo Villa Bardini, Florence, Italy and more.
